O's activate Norris, designate DePaula

WASHINGTON -- The Orioles reinstated Bud Norris from the disabled list prior to Tuesday's game, which was postponed, and designated Julio DePaula for assignment to clear a roster spot. Norris will start on Wednesday.

Norris, 29, was placed on the DL retroactive to June 22 with a right groin strain and he was deemed good to go after a two-inning simulated game on Saturday at Fenway Park. He has gone 7-5 with a 3.62 ERA in 14 starts for the Orioles this season.

DePaula had his contract purchased from Double-A Bowie prior to Monday's game and served as bullpen insurance given the club's doubleheader on Saturday and 12-inning game on Sunday.
