BALTIMORE -- The Orioles announced Thursday that right-hander Armando Gabino has cleared waivers and been outrighted to Triple-A Norfolk.
Gabino, who had been pushed to waivers to make room for Mark Hendrickson, will still be invited to Spring Training as a non-roster player.
Gabino was originally acquired as a waiver claim from Minnesota in November. Gabino is the second Baltimore pitcher to clear waivers, closely following Dennis Sarfate.
Coincidentally, Gabino made his big league debut against Baltimore late last season. Gabino has a 21-17 record and a 3.30 ERA over the life of his Minor League career.
