After snagging five straight pitchers to start their Draft, the Orioles finally changed things up in the eighth round and grabbed Clemson second baseman Steve Wilkerson.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound switch hitter has played multiple positions in the infield as a senior for the Tigers, but he projects as a second baseman at the professional level.
The Draft concludes on Saturday, with exclusive coverage of Rounds 11-40 beginning on MLB.com at 1 p.m. ET.
Wilkerson finished second on the team with a .317 batting average and led the club with a .502 slugging percentage and six home runs. He also stole eight bases in nine tries.
Wilkerson started 56 games for the 36-25 Tigers before the team was swept out of the first weekend of the NCAA Tournament.
