Veteran infielder Alex Gonzalez will look to extend his big league career, having signed a Minor League deal with the Orioles that includes an invitation to Spring Training.
Gonzalez, who will turn 37 in February, spent the last two seasons with the Brewers, though he appeared in just 65 games during that span. After playing shortstop exclusively through his first 14 seasons, Gonzalez made the majority of his appearances last year at first base, while also racking up nine starts at third base.
Gonzalez hit just .177 with a .203 on-base percentage over 41 games last season. Over 15 big league seasons, he has a .246 average to go along with 157 home runs and 688 RBIs.
