Play Arts!, October 26, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.: A family day of free, fun, hands-on activities to celebrate expanded arts education in Sarasota County schools. The event is being held in partnership with the Community Foundation of Sarasota County, Sarasota County Schools and The Kennedy Center.
Ice on the Diamond - A Holiday Celebration, December 20, 7:00 p.m.: An ideal holiday outing for families, this professional ice-dancing show will be presented on a specially engineered ice rink on the stadium's main field.
All-American Family Day & Concert, April 6: A day of free activities designed for the whole family to honor returning military veterans. The day will begin with a ceremony honoring veterans, then attendees will enjoy hands-on activities for the whole family. An exhibition softball game will take place on the Ed Smith Stadium main field featuring local veterans squaring off against Sarasota celebrities. Families can cap off a full day of fun with a free concert by a nationally known music group. Part of The Patterson Foundation's Legacy of Valor campaign honoring veterans and their families, the event is in partnership with Booker High School, Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida, Goodwill Manasota and Sarasota Military Academy.
Sarasota Orchestra's Spirit of America, May 10, 7:00 p.m.: The Sarasota Orchestra closes its 65th season with a celebratory outdoor Pops concert featuring Molly Cherryholmes, a Grammy-nominated violinist, vocalist and songwriter.
