BALTIMORE -- The Orioles will pick up where they left off in the 2014 regular season, opening at home after starting out against Tampa Bay in St. Petersburg for three of the past four years.
The Orioles, who will end the regular season by hosting the Red Sox this year, will welcome Boston for a three-game set that starts on March 31. After an off-day, the two clubs will resume the series on April 2 and 3. Baltimore will visit the Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees for its first road trip of the year, with Tuesday's official schedule release featuring a slew of intriguing matchups.
Of note in Interleague action, the Orioles will play host to the Pittsburgh Pirates on April 29-30 and will welcome St. Louis to town for a three-game set Aug. 8-10. The Cincinnati Reds will visit Camden Yards Sept. 2-4.
The Orioles will again play four Battle of the Beltways games against the Washington Nationals. Those contests will continue to be done in the rapid home-and-home fashion that started in 2013, with the Orioles going to D.C. on July 7-8 and hosting the Nationals on July 9-10.
The Orioles travel to play the Pirates, Brewers and Cubs next season, making their second trip to PNC Park in three seasons for a two-game series in Pittsburgh on May 20-21. The O's will go to Milwaukee for a three-game set May 26-28 and make their first visit to Wrigley Field since 2008 from Aug. 22-24 as part of a week-long stay in Chicago. They'll play the White Sox in their yearly trip to U.S. Cellular Field on Aug. 18-20 and enjoy an off-day in the Windy City before moving to the North Side.
For the second consecutive year, the O's will end their home slate against the Red Sox, with the club's final home game on Sept. 21. Baltimore ends the regular season with a run of division games culminating in a three-game set in Toronto from Sept. 26-28.
