Ripken offering $100K for info about mom's abduction

It's been a year since Vi Ripken, the mother of Cal Ripken Jr., was abducted from her Aberdeen, Md., home at gun point, driven around in her own car and then returned unharmed 24 hours later.

Still without a suspect, Ripken Jr. wants answers.

The Hall of Fame infielder is offering $100,000 to anyone who helps find the person who kidnapped his mom last year, he announced Thursday at the Sports Legends Museum next to Oriole Park at Camden Yards, according to multiple reports.

The original reward was $2,000.

Violet Ripken, 75, told The Baltimore Sun she is still living her life as she normally would, facing her fears in public rather than hiding in safety.

Aberdeen Police told the paper there were no new leads, though an image of the man was obtained via surveillance footage during the initial investigation. The images were shared in the media and on local billboards, but to no avail.
