Lindstrom nearing return to Orioles
NEW YORK -- Orioles reliever Matt Lindstrom pitched a scoreless inning for the Gulf Coast League Orioles on Monday morning and the reports were good. The right-hander, rehabbing a partially torn ligament in the middle finger of his pitching hand, is nearing a return to Baltimore.

"Everything went well," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said of Lindstrom, who will throw another inning in the GCL on Wednesday, and pitch with Double-A Bowie on Friday.

One of the Orioles' late-inning relievers, Lindstrom last pitched on May 10, and he posted a 1.29 ERA in his first 13 appearances for Baltimore. The 32-year-old was acquired along with starter Jason Hammel in an offseason trade with the Rockies for right-hander Jeremy Guthrie.
