After sweeping the Devil Rays in a three-game series at Camden Yards to finish a 5-2 homestand, the Orioles embark on a 10-day, nine-game road trip beginning with a trio of contests at Fenway Park against the Red Sox.
Boston took a two-game series in Baltimore on April 22-23, and the Orioles were 3-15 against the Red Sox in 2006, including a 1-8 mark in Beantown. So far this season, Baltimore is 5-10 on the road.
Left-hander Brian Burres hopes his second Major League start is better than his first. Called on to replaced the injured Adam Loewen in the Orioles' rotation, Burres couldn't get out of the fourth inning Sunday in a loss to Cleveland.
BOS: RHP Julian Tavarez (1-3, 6.48 ERA)
BAL: LHP Brian Burres (0-1, 3.71 ERA)
Burres made his first Major League start Sunday, lasting only 3 2/3 innings and giving up five runs on seven hits and two walks.
Tavarez has lasted six innings only once in five starts this season, his last outing at Minnesota on Saturday.
Player to watch
Designated hitter/first baseman Aubrey Huff has hit in seven consecutive games, going 12-for-39 (.308) over that span.
