VandenHurk likely to start series finale

|
TORONTO -- Barring a lengthy extra-inning game or a shortened outing from starter Jeremy Guthrie on Saturday, right-hander Rick VandenHurk will get the nod in Sunday's tilt against the Blue Jays.

VandenHurk, since being called up from Triple-A Norfolk on Aug. 16, has served out of the Orioles' bullpen as a middle reliever, posting a 4.38 ERA over 12 1/3 innings. He began the year with the Marlins, making two relief appearances between June 8-11. The 25-year-old's last start was Oct. 2, 2009, vs. the Phillies.

Left-hander Brian Matusz and right-hander Brad Bergesen will pitch Monday and Tuesday against the Rays, respectively. Kevin Millwood will start Wednesday's series finale.
