Roberts dealing with bout of pneumonia

|
ARLINGTON -- Brian Roberts sent a text message to Orioles manager Dave Trembley on Thursday saying that he was "feeling better" after being admitted to a Baltimore-area hospital on Monday with pneumonia.

Roberts was supposed to go to Sarasota, Fla., for extended spring training on Wednesday. For now, Trembley doesn't know when that will happen. Roberts will remain in Baltimore until he is fully recovered.

Roberts is on the 60-day disabled list with an abdominal strain. He's also dealt with a herniated disk in his back and now pneumonia.

"It's just been one thing after another," Trembley said. "That says it all. When he thinks he's close and we think he's close, it's something else."
