Enters his first season as an Orioles Major League Coach after being named to the position for the 2019 season...Marks his 10th season as a coach in the Orioles organization...Spent the last six years with Triple-A Norfolk as a Field Coach/Third Base Coach (2017-18) and as a Field Coach (2013-16)...Served one year each as a coach with the Gulf Coast League Orioles (2010), Class-A Delmarva (2011), and Class A-Advanced Frederick (2012).
 
PLAYING CAREER

Played in 1,587 Major League games over a 15-year career from 1991-2006 with the Texas Rangers (1991), Cleveland Indians (1992, 2005), Chicago Cubs (1994-99, 2003), Atlanta Braves (1999), Milwaukee Brewers (2000-02), Colorado Rockies (2003), Pittsburgh Pirates (2003, 2006), Los Angeles Dodgers (2004), and Philadelphia Phillies (2006)...Played every position in the majors except pitcher and catcher...Selected as a 2002 National League All-Star with Milwaukee as he batted .288 with 24 home runs and 73 RBI in 152 games for the Brewers...Played in five postseason series in his career (1998 NLDS with Cubs; 1999 NLDS, NLCS, and World Series with the Braves; and 2004 NLDS with the Dodgers)...Went 1-for-5 with a double in the 1999 World Series, which the Braves lost to the Yankees...His 168 career home runs are the 17th-most in Major League history by a Puerto Rican-born player.
